A 9-part course that helps boost essential emotional intelligence for 2022 and beyond.
This course is designed to help learners enhance how well they demonstrate emotionally intelligent behaviors and, in doing so, improve how they connect, communicate, and collaborate with others. Course participants will:
- Understand the impact emotions have on productivity, decision-making, behaviors, & performance
- Leverage self-awareness to gain greater control and choice over how to manage emotions
- Have the opportunity to assess their own level of emotional intelligence
- Explore tools and techniques for enhancing empathy to:
- More accurately view situations from the perspective of others
- More accurately anticipate responses or reactions from others
- Be more behaviorally agile in our approach with others
- Enhance how we connect with, communicate to, and influence those we work with
- Understand the value of openly and effectively expressing oneself to build relational trust with others
- Learn a model to use to facilitate challenging conversations
- Explore tools and techniques for generating new knowledge and ways of approaching novel problems
- Improve how we manage our own mood and emotions, stress and workloads, and bounce back from the challenges life can give us
- Enhance personal resilience
- Explore the things we can do to boost the quality of our day-to-day social interactions
- Discover a coaching model for helping others respond to their challenging situations effectively
What Will Be Taught?
Emotional intelligence has become an essential skill for success in the workplace AND in everyday life. The material taught in this course enables people to discover how to become not only a high-impact performer at work, but also better parents, partners, siblings, and friends.
Participants will learn the practical tools and techniques necessary to "show up" in the ways that generate high impact and positively influence others.

Kelley Ashby has over twenty years of experience in training others to be effective leaders. Her experience includes developing leadership programs and training curriculum, and academic leadership education and assessment. She created, directed, and co-authored the University of Iowa’s Career Leadership Academy curriculum and developed and administered Iowa’s Certificate in Leadership Studies.
In 2017, she decided to take her years of experience developing leaders and start her own training, coaching, and consulting business. She develops and delivers customized services focused on helping organizations develop and enhance the leadership talents of professional staff, leaders, and managers.
Kelley has worked with a wide variety of industries and employees from entry-level to senior executives. She specializes in “Multiple Generations in the Workplace” and “Emotional Intelligence.” She is a certified Emotional Intelligence trainer and coach and helps individuals improve their “EI”—a skill that is critical to workplace success at all levels across all industries. Kelley works closely with organizations to create workplace cultures where employees thrive.
